When we first visited in 2002 we instantly fell in love with Maureillas. It offers visitors the perfect blend of an idyllic French village, friendly people and great local amenities. You’ll love wandering down to the square on an evening, settling into the relaxed atmosphere, as the sun sets and the music starts. There’s always something to see or do when you’re in Maureillas.
Amenities in the village:
There are large supermarkets in the next village but Maureillas also provides everything you may need during your stay. With two restaurants, a local Spar, butchers, farmer’s market, two takeaways, a bakery and a playground, there’s plenty on your doorstep.
Friendly bar located in the square in the centre of the village. Good food often accompanied by live music.
Family run restaurant also located in the square offering exceptional food – highly recommended. This is a great representation of the outstanding food in the region, and the best bit? It’s right on your doorstep.
Village bakers selling all sorts of breads, cakes, and pastries.
A village store selling essentials.
Handmade pizzas made fresh to order. There’s also a wraps and tacos takeaway situated in the village too.
